Amy Catlin-Jairazbhoy, adjunct professor of ethnomusicology, filmmaker and specialist in Indian music, has been awarded a 2013 award for her "Contribution to the Cause of Indian Music by an Overseas-Resident Personality." The award will be formally conferred at the ITC-Sangeet Research Seminar "Riyaz" on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Experimental Theatre of the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Mumbai, India. In November 2013, she was one of three filmmaker dedicatees at the Third International Folk Music Film Festival held in Kathmandu, Nepal. Three of Amy Catlin-Jairazbhoy and the late Nazir Jairazbhoy's films were screened at the festival: "Music for a Goddess" (2008), "From Africa to India" (2003), and "The Sidi Malunga Project" (2004).
