A symposium is being held in honor of Christopher T. Russell, a professor in UCLA's Department of Earth and Space Sciences, on May 8 and 9. This gathering is an opportunity for friends, colleagues, students and former students to celebrate and recognize the life and career of Professor Russell, on the occasion of his 70th birthday. It is open to all.
Invited presentations will include retrospectives of personal collaborations with him, scientific topics of interest to him, discussions of ongoing and future research areas facilitated by Prof. Russell, and personal remembrances of his mentorship.
The program will take place all day on Wednesday, May 8, in Royce 314 and continue on Thursday morning, May 9, in Young 2033. The celebration is supported by the Earth and Space Sciences Department and several of Professor Russell’s colleagues.
