Christian Moeller, UCLA professor of design and media arts, has been selected from four finalists to design Nashville’s newest public art project. Moeller is a native of Germany and has previously headed public art projects across the globe, in San Jose, Calif., Washington state and Tokyo.

The piece will consist of a collection of 30 structures made of red cedar wood, resembling javelins and reaching a height of 85 feet.

Moeller has commented, "I designed a piece that occupies almost the entirety of the available space in order to create more volume. The result is a large-scale piece characterized by color with unlimited, 360-degree viewing angles, making the journey an exciting visual experience."
