Marc Suchard, a professor of human genetics, biomathematics and biostatistics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, was the 2013 recipient of the annual Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies Award. Considered the Nobel Prize in statistics, the international award recognizes one person under the age of 40 for her or his outstanding contributions to the profession.
Awardees are chosen by the presidents of the American Statistical Association, the Statistical Society of Canada, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, the Eastern North American Region of the International Biometric Society and the Western North American Region of the International Biometric Society.
