Hillary Theyer, adjunct lecturer and alumna of the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies, has been named one of 24 exceptional Public Library Association (PLA) Leadership Fellows by the American Library Assocation’s PLA Development Committee. Theyer is the principal librarian at the Torrance Public Library.
The fellows will attend the PLA Leadership Academy in Chicago, March 4-8. “Navigating Change, Building Community,” the academy is intended as career-enhancing training to provide participants with the necessary skills to work with local government and community partners to enhance the position of libraries within the community and improve the effectiveness of library activities and programs.
