Professor Timothy Malloy has been reappointed to a second term on the California Department of Toxic Substances Green Ribbon Science Panel. The panel provides advice and acts as a resource to the director of the department of toxic substances and the California Environmental Policy Council on a variety matters related to green chemistry and developing chemicals policy recommendations and implementation strategies.
The first panel, established in 2009, helped develop the Safer Consumer Product regulations — the first in the nation in scope and authority over developing safer consumer products — and the new panel will continue to advise the department on a variety of scientific and technical matters related to green chemistry.
Malloy teaches Environmental Aspects of Business Transactions, Regulatory Lawyering, Regulation of the Business Firm, Environmental Policy and Politics and Contracts. He is the faculty director of the interdisciplinary UCLA Sustainable Technology and Policy Program, and a member of the Center on Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology.
