The Nicholas Endowment awarded a $50,000 grant to help support patient care services at the Wilson-Jennings-Bloomfield UCLA Venice Dental Center (VDC). The funding from the private foundation, which aims to enable individuals to reach their full potential in today’s society, will help provide vital dental services to low-income and indigent patients in West Los Angeles and its surrounding communities.
More than 3 million Californians previously covered by the Adult Denti-Cal program lost dental coverage for oral health care and treatment because of the economic crisis and the elimination of coverage. With support from the Nicholas Endowment, the VDC can continue to improve the oral health of the community by providing both basic and specialty services to low-income and uninsured patients.
