Rebecca Allen, professor of design media arts, has been selected by the editors of Fast Company magazine to be one of their Most Creative People in Business 1000.
 
"We have curated what we believe is the ultimate club of business thought-leaders," according to Fast Company. "Honorees have been hand-selected from those featured in our magazine pages and will be featured in a new coverage area on our website." Awardees will be honored at an event in New York City on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Fast Company offices at 7 World Trade Center. A West Coast celebration is planned for  San Francisco on Feb. 4.
 
Allen's work crosses the boundaries of art, design and science. She has worked extensively in Europe and the U.S., producing commissioned projects in Spain, Germany, Italy, England, New York and Los Angeles. She has collaborated with artists such as Kraftwerk, Mark Mothersbough from Devo, John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel, Carter Burwell, Twyla Tharp, Joffrey Ballet and La Fura dels Baus.
