Professor Ali H. Sayed is co-recipient, with former Ph.D. student Zhi Quan and co-author S. Cui, of the 2012 Best Paper Award from the IEEE Signal Processing Society for the article, "Optimal linear cooperation for spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks" published in the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing.
