World-renowned dentist-scientist Dr. Cun-Yu Wang, the No-Hee Park Endowed Professor and chair of the Division of Oral Biology and Medicine, has been elected a foreign member to the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Wang is also associate dean for graduate studies at the UCLA School of Dentistry as well as a professor of bioengineering at the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science.
 
Wang is one of six individuals in the world to be elected a foreign member this year and the only faculty member from UCLA to ever receive this distinction. Membership into the Chinese Academy of Engineering is deemed one of the highest honors in the fields of engineering, medicine, public health, biotechnology and pharmaceutics in China.
