Dr. Richard Jackson to receive Henry Hope Reed Award

Dr. Richard Jackson, a professor of environmental health at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, has been selected to receive the Henry Hope Reed Award from the University of Notre Dame.

Nathan to join medical school as chief information officer

Benjamin Nathan will join UCLA Health Sciences as the chief information officer for the David Geffen School of Medicine, effective on May 4.  Nathan will provide the vision and leadership for the administration, research and educational information systems of the medical school.

The application period for the next staff advisor-designate to the UC regents is now open. Staff members will have until March 6 to submit an application. The new staff advisor will serve on the Board of Regents from July 2015 through June 2017.

UCLA professor wins award for book on Sephardic history

Sarah Stein has been awarded a National Jewish Book Award for her work as the co-author of "Sephardi Lives: A Documentary History, 1700-1950." Stein was honored in the category of Sephardic culture and was given the Mimi S. Frank Award.
