The awards, which total nearly $2.3 million, will support work by professors at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies.

The donation, which builds on a decade of support from the foundation led by Dan and Rae Emmett, includes $1.8 million and a challenge: The foundation will match one-to-one gifts made by other donors up to $2.5 million.

An earlier $2 million grant from the foundation established the California Policy Lab in 2017.

A gift from philanthropists Jane and Terry Semel will enable UCLA to expand research, teaching and activities connected to the campus’s Healthy Campus Initiative.

The proposed minor would create new opportunities to engage students across all majors on campus, and it would extend the campus’s existing strength in Iranian studies.

The gift, to support work in operator algebras, extends Masamichi Takesaki’s previous investment in his home department.

A $2 million gift left by the late actor will support students in the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture and the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.

Eugene & Maxine Rosenfeld Hall will be one of the few facilities in the nation to unite mock clinical experiences, surgical and procedural simulation, and interprofessional emergency and hospital team training.

A second round of Centennial Campaign giving brings the couple’s campaign contributions to nearly $60 million.

The UCLA Pritzker Center for Strengthening Children and Families will address the complex needs of youth in foster care by bringing together resources and expertise from numerous units on campus.

The gift will providing resources for early-career scientists pursuing discoveries in the understanding and treatment of irritable bowel disease.

The gift will help establish a graduate fellowship and name a dedicated study space for chemistry and biochemistry students.

The announcement coincides with a lead gift of $30 million — the largest in the museum’s history — from Lynda and Stewart Resnick.

The influential singer and songwriter died in May, but his commitment to justice, human rights and advocacy for those in need lives on.

The scholarship will cover the tuition of students from the Middle East to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree in the humanities and/or social sciences at UCLA.

Highlights include honors for Ava DuVernay and Hilton Als and tributes from J.J. Abrams and Maggie Nelson, live performance by HAIM.

The grant will enable scholars to pursue new research, develop state-of-the-art digital resources and forge international collaborations.

The UCLA Health program provides surgical and medical treatment, and psychological health support for post-9/11-era service members, veterans and their families.

Five UCLA freshmen visited the cast and crew of “The Big Bang Theory” on set and joined in an eight-clap with actress, neuroscientist and alumna Mayim Bialik.

The donation resulted from a fundraising effort launched by Dr. Howard Park, a graduate of the school’s postgraduate training program and a part-time faculty member.

Gifts from his widow Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe and the Arthur Ashe Learning Center, will create an undergraduate scholarship and exhibits celebrating his achievements.

The donation will support faculty members pursuing research with applications ranging from regenerative medicine to environmental sustainability.
