A three-part documentary series produced by UCTV explores the heartache for those suffering from and coping with Alzheimer's disease and the hope offered by UCLA researchers leading the charge to slow its progress and perhaps find a cure.
"Heartache and hope: America’s Alzheimer’s epidemic" profiles the work going on at the Mary. S Easton Center for Alzheimer’s Disease Research at UCLA and describes a growing network of caregiver support groups established by Patti Davis, daughter of President Ronald Reagan, and television personality Leeza Gibbons, who lost her mother to the disease.
The series has been named one of the 14 Best Alzheimer’s Videos of 2012 by Healthline.com.
