costumes 1Eight UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television students have labored to create gorgeous, half-scale costumes that were entered into a competition. The winner will be announced Saturday, Feb. 8. The costumes they created were inspired by the painting "A Peasant Smoking at a Cottage Door" by Thomos Gainsborough. The Copley Center for the Study of Costume Design teamed up with San Diego's Timken Museum of Art, where the painting is being exhibited currently, to host this competition. The winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Non-winning entries will be auctioned off at the awards gala to benefit the Timken Museum and the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television Design Fund.
