Visit the UCLA Hammer Museum on Wednesday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m. for a panel discussion of how participatory art projects cause cultural shifts. On the panel are:
- Tiny aka Lisa Gray-Garcia, the co-founder of POOR Magazine and Homefulness Project, a landless peoples movement in East Oakland
- Shoshanna Scholar, Los Angeles County HIV Commissioner and executive director of LA Community Health Project Shoshanna Scholar
- Tony Valenzuela, the executive director of Lambda Literary, an organization that supports and presents LGBTQ literature.
Amy Scholder, an editor at the Feminist Press, will moderate the discussion.
This program is a collaboration with the Santa Monica Museum of Art's presentation of "Brian Weil,1979-95: Being in the Real World," a series of photographs illuminating "invisible communities."
