Paul-KagamePresident Paul Kagame of Rwanda will talk about his nation's recovery from the genocide of 1994, its subsequent economic advances and future challenges at a Fe. 12 dinner cohosted by UCLA's Center for World Health and the Los Angeles World Affairs Council. Kagame, who has served as president since 2000, has received international recognition for his leadership in nation-building and reconciliation, development, good governance, women’s empowerment and the advancement of education. In 2009, Time magazine listed Kagame among the 100 most influential people in the world, crediting him with bringing women into leadership roles and helping to bring the country back together.
