Join the UCLA Film and Television Archive in celebrating the career of Emmy-award winning director Robert Butler at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 24. Butler, who directed pilot episodes of such series as "Hogan’s Heroes," "Star Trek" and "Batman," will be present at Billy Wilder Theater to discuss his career and greatest works. The evening will also feature screenings of two of Butler's many television directorial works: his originally unaired "Star Trek" pilot episode, "The Cage" (1965), and his artful episode of "Columbo", "Publish or Perish" (1974). In addition to being chosen by series creator Gene Roddenberry to direct the flagship episode of "Star Trek," Butler contributed to such classic series as "The Twilight Zone" and "Kung Fu," as well as directing baby boomer-favorite Disney comedies, "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes" (1969) and "The Barefoot Executive" (1971). Admission is free. For more information, visit the UCLA Film and Television Archive here. Robert Butler at the Billy Wilder Theater
