Mark your calendar for the Small Business Resource Fair on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Ackerman Grand Ballroom, to acquaint yourself with a wide variety of small vendors — from printers to travel service providers — who conduct business with UCLA. Sponsored by Staff Assembly in collaboration with UCLA’s campus purchasing department, this annual event is a key outreach activity to promote commerce with small businesses at UCLA. Participation by staff and departments may increase the value of your purchasing dollar and helps the university meet its obligations as a federal contractor.
Bring your BruinCard I.D. for easy entry into the fair. Also bring along plenty of business cards to share and also to enter into prize drawings throughout the event. Light refreshments will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m., and several vendors will give away sample products.
Supervisors are encouraged to grant employees sufficient release time to attend the event, provided that the absence would not infringe upon the performance of required job duties.
