United States Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer visited UCLA School of Law today for a wide-ranging conversation with Dean Jennifer Mnookin.
Breyer discussed the work of the Supreme Court and his new book, “The Court and The World: American Law and the New Global Realities” (Alfred A. Knopf, September 2015), which examines the global scope of the court’s work in an increasingly interconnected world. During the event, which is the first in a series of “Conversations with the Dean” to be held throughout the year, Breyer offered his thoughts (which we’ve collected below from Twitter) on the death penalty, how well the justices get along, technology and the courts, and the question he gets asked most often.
This is the second visit to UCLA Law for Breyer, who was nominated to the court by President Bill Clinton.
