The Bruin community expressed their personal appreciation to members of the military in letters Thursday at the James West Alumni Center. The UCLA Volunteer Center organized events this week to collect as many personal letters as possible for Operation Gratitude, which sends letters to currently deployed service members, wounded warriors and veterans. The activities were part of a weeklong campus salute to veterans that will culminate with a ceremony Friday at 11:30 a.m. in Wilson Plaza. There will be another letter-writing opportunity following the ceremony.
