With finals week approaching, Powell Library has been opened 24/7 to provide students with as much study time access as possible. With all that hard work going on, it seems only fair that some stress-busting activities also be enjoyed. On Friday, a few furry friends were on hand to provide students a much-needed distraction.

The dogs are part of the UCLA Health System’s People-Animal Connection program, which brings more than 50 certified therapy dogs to the hospital for patients.

Other stress-busting activities leading into finals include a guided mediation session on June 11 from 12:30 – 1 p.m. in the Powell Library’s East Rotunda, origami and crafts daily in the Rose Gilbert Reading Room and free coffee and fruit for students every night until midnight in the West Rotunda. Additional events, including a live performance by the student group, Company 2014, of its "Powell Anthem" — a comedic salute to cramming at Powell Library — will be held at campus libraries through June 13. A video of the song, written and performed by Kimia Behpoornia and Anthony DeBenedetti, was shown at this year's Spring Sing.
