If you’re currently enrolled in one of the four UC medical plans that are being discontinued, make your changes now. Open Enrollment closes on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 5 p.m.
Discontinued plans include Anthem Blue Cross PLUS or PPO, Anthem Lumenos PPO with HRA and Health Net full network HMO. See UCOP’s Open Enrollment website for all the information and tools you need to make a choice.
You must also take action if you want to participate in the Health Flexible Spending Account (Health FSA) and/or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DepCare FSA). Even if you are currently enrolled in these plans, you must re-enroll to participate in 2014. Remember, if you choose the new Blue Shield Health Savings Plan as your medical plan, you cannot enroll in the Health FSA.
Typically, the final two days of the Open Enrollment period are the very busiest for both the benefits offices and the website. That means you can anticipate heavy traffic on the Open Enrollment website today and tomorrow, so don't put off your changes until the last minute.
