When you’re ready to retire from UC, will you know what you need to know and what you need to do?
A new video, “Preparing for Retirement,” gives UC faculty and staff the information you need to understand and begin the retirement process.
Created in collaboration with the UC Retirement Administration Service Center as a video version of a presentation that the center also delivers in person on UC campuses, “Preparing for Retirement” offers information about the UC Retirement Plan, the Retirement Savings Program and other sources of retirement income and retiree health benefits, and describes the process you’ll go through when you’re ready to retire and what to expect after you retire.
The video incorporates five scenarios that compare an employee’s regular paycheck with their retirement benefit payment. Each scenario is different, from a simple calculation of basic retirement income to a calculation for an employee who receives only a portion of UC’s contribution for retiree health insurance. Designed in short segments, you can watch the entire presentation or selected sections.
